The process of selling your car with Your Car for Cash is fast and extremely straight forward. The first stage is to enter your car registration, the mileage and your contact details for an instant pre-inspection valuation. If you’re happy to proceed, one of our friendly staff will be in contact to arrange an appointment at a time convenient to you, be that at your home or place of work. After checking the documents are in order, the assessor will check the car and take it for a quick test-drive to make sure everything is in order. If everything checks out, we’re more than happy to purchase your car.
No, here at Your Car For Cash, we try our best to make the process of selling your car as easy and stress free as possible, which is why we come to you either at home or your place of work. We can offer same day appointments meaning we can buy and collect your car all within a few hours !
NONE – The final price we give you after the inspection is the money you receive in your bank account. We don’t charge admin or any other additional fees. Even our collections are free.
On the day of the appointment the assessor will visit you at the arranged place and time to inspect the vehicle and make sure it’s in the condition that you told us. He will take photographs of the car and conduct a short test-drive to ensure that there are no major mechanical issues. A final offer will then be made to you upon the inspection.
At this point, the assessor will contact our payments team who will arrange an instant payment by bank transfer into your account. He will ensure that you’ve received the money in your account before you hand over the keys.
A Should we agree to a sale, we usually collect the car right after we have inspected your car and the money is in your account. Apart from the ID, V5C and proof of address documents, we’d need;
* Both car keys
* Service history books & handbooks
* Locking wheel nuts
* MOT Certificate
Please make sure to empty your car, check the glove box, centre console, boot etc.
A test-drive is a standard part of the appointment procedure that we do before we commit to buy any car. This is necessary to ensure the vehicle is not carrying any major mechanical defects that could affect the resale value. Mechanical issues like with the clutch, gearbox, steering or brakes cannot be detected by simply running the engine. Our assessors only take a short test-drive lasting between 5-10 minutes. If any issues are found, they’ll be sure to discuss them with you on their return.
Unfortunately, we cannot purchase any cars unless the owner of the car is present and with valid ID which matches the details on the logbook.
You must be able to provide a full logbook on the day the sale is agreed. If you do not have one, you can apply for a new one by filling in the V62 form at your local post office or online at:
https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-log-book
We do not purchase cars from other motor dealers / traders.
The valuation price we Quote, is based on the information you have supplied. However, the final price cannot be determined until we physically see your car and complete our inspection. Please remember, our main goal is to purchase your car at a reasonable price that makes you happy.
The required documents are :
* V5C – The logbook will need to be in your name (registered keeper) and your address on the V5C will also need to be up to date with your current address.
* Photo ID – This can be your driving licence or passport.
* Proof of address – In addition to the logbook listing your current address, we’ll need to see one other form of address e.g a utility or council tax bill.
* Bank details – In order to be able to process the payment to your bank, we’ll also need to see a hardcopy of your bank details e.g your bank card or a recent bank statement.
